XA Mechanical Seal

The SONTEK™ XA Mechanical seal is a high-performance Mechanical Seal typically used in industrial pumps. XA Mechanical Seal is a factory-assembled, pre-set sealing unit designed for centrifugal pumps and rotating equipment. XA Mechanical Seal is a single, unbalanced mechanical seal used in pumps and rotating equipment to prevent leakage of fluid along the shaft. It works by pressing a rotating seal face and a stationary seal face together, creating a tight sealing surface. Springs and secondary seals (such as O-rings) maintain contact between the faces and ensure proper sealing. XA mechanical seals are commonly used in centrifugal pumps, water systems, and light chemical applications because of their simple design, reliability, and easy maintenance. Main Components Rotary Face – Attached to the rotating shaft and rotates with it. Stationary Face (Seat) – Fixed in the seal housing and does not rotate. Secondary Seals – O-rings or gaskets that prevent leakage between components. Spring or Multiple Springs – Provide axial force to keep the seal faces in contact. Metal Parts – Hold and support the seal assembly.Working Principle

The rotary and stationary faces press against each other to form a sealing interface.

A very thin film of fluid forms between the faces to reduce friction and wear.

The spring force maintains constant contact between the sealing faces even when the shaft moves.
